Pair of Senior Dogs Rescued From Fort Worth Shelter
As area shelters are bursting at the seams right now, we picked up these two at Fort Worth whose owner had to go into nursing care.
Senior dogs often have a hard time finding adoption placements, although it is far harder for senior dogs over 25 pounds than little guys like these two.
We generally expect senior dogs over 25 pounds to be searching for a home for a minimum of six months and frequently in excess of nine months. This pair may have some gray hair, but they still have lots of love to give to a new family!

My friend is being evicted from her apartment. She is a drug user. She is over 5o. Her dog, Dexter, is a senior Decker Rat Terrier (tall) and he is 15. He does not deserve to be homeless. I live 95 miles away now and my family member refuses to allow me to take Dexter. I have known him for years since I lived in Fort Worth. It breaks my heart. She also has 3 cats that do not deserve to be simply put outside and forgotten. My friend is a Mental Health Consumer and has been homeless living on the streets in the past, for years at a time. She got Dex as a puppy. What can Your organization do to help this sweet dog? Thanks for any advice and direction. God Bless You and what You do.
