Meg the Schnauzer
We rescued Meg the Schnauzer from Fort Worth Animal Care and Control after a concerned citizen dropped her off there. She was covered in maggots and ticks, both of her corneas were perforated, and her packed cell volume was 5 (our doctor described this as “not compatible with life”). She is in critical condition but getting excellent care.
9/10/19 Update:
She is improving, eating on her own, standing and walking, but still receiving treatment for the ulcers on her corneas.
She , Meg, reminds me of a little one I took in who was having issue existing out side on the street. on our block. She started hanging out on our porch and back yard. I asked the supposed owner if we could have her to make a home for her as she had very nice energy and in dire need of help. They said yes and I took her immediately to Doc Wynn in Shreveport, La. They got her in to tip top shape with meds and visits to the vet. She made an amazing recovery with me and my 12 year old rotweiller Babe looking after and loving her. As far as Babe was concerned, our new little Penny was her baby girl. What a wonderful little girl she was and lived a very long time did have a litter of babes when we first took her in and we kept her little Pooque do with her always. Pooque lived to age 18 years old. Very healthy always. They traveled to Michigan across the country with us after Babe passed away. I was so lucky to have such sweet babes and little friends. Amazing little ones who charmed everyone they met.
